Cool Free Stuff (Part 4)
Free e-mail accounts abound. The primary players are MSN Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, and Google's Gmail. Google made a splash when their service debuted by offering users 1 GB of storage when Hotmail and Yahoo offered only a few megabytes. If you don't like to delete stuff, Gmail is the way to go. Gmail's interface is a little clumsy but, overall, I like the service.
Yesterday, Google announced that it would integrate instant messaging (what it calls Google Chat) into Gmail. And, with Google Talk, you can enjoy voice conversations with other Gmail users via the Internet--for free. I haven't had a chance to use this service yet but let me know if you'd like to give it a go--I've got my Google Talk client running.
