RIAA: Ripping CDs is NOT Fair Use
So if you own a CD (maybe one that you bought at Tower Records, B&N, Amazon or wherever) the RIAA appears to be saying that you can't rip it onto your computer and upload the music onto your MP3 player. If this is true, it's going to get really messy.

Something doesn't have to be "fair use" to be legal.
The RIAA statement means nothing.
